Bensaude Hotels Wins “Sustainable Impact” Award and Strengthens Leadership in Responsible Tourism

Awards

In its debut year at the Líderes do Turismo Awards, Bensaude Hotels was recognized for its commitment to the future with the “Sustainable Impact by WITH” award. The ceremony, held at the NOVA SBE campus in Carcavelos, brought together leading figures from the tourism sector, including the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, and the President of Turismo de Portugal, Carlos Abade.

For Bensaude Hotels, this award marks the culmination of a strategic journey that positions the hotel group as a driver of regional development and a benchmark for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
This achievement is supported by tangible results: Bensaude Hotels has continued to strengthen its Travelife Gold certification across its hotel units, driven by a rigorous investment in renewable energy sources, including geothermal, solar, and biomass.

In the past year alone, these investments generated energy savings equivalent to the consumption of approximately one hundred households. In the circular economy, the group’s recycling policy helped preserve more than 7,700 trees, further consolidating the brand as a reference in responsible tourism.

Beyond its environmental initiatives, both the jury and the public recognized the group’s social impact, as reflected in the WE CARE seal and its Sustainability Charter. The brand has stood out for its focus on human capital, its encouragement of young talent, and its stimulation of the local economy through its preference for regional suppliers.

With this victory, Bensaude Hotels reaffirms that operational excellence and genuine hospitality are inseparable from environmental responsibility, and it leads the way toward the future of tourism in Portugal.
