Camélia Debuts with a Menu Inspired by Furnas Lake's Volcanic Flavors
InstitutionalOn the shores of the iconic Furnas Lake, the new Furnas retreat opens its doors with an exclusive menu crafted by Chef Nuno Gonçalves. From a beef sandwich slow-cooked in the volcanic caldeiras to a brunch with an Azorean soul, Camélia’s signature cuisine unfolds in a truly unique setting.
Located in the historic “Casa dos Barcos” on the shores of Furnas Lake, Camélia introduces an innovative, cosmopolitan deli concept for those seeking to discover new flavors in an unmistakably Azorean setting.
Created by Chef Nuno Gonçalves, the new signature menu reinterprets the region’s traditions and volcanic ingredients with a light, contemporary, and sophisticated approach.
The opening of Camélia Delicatesse marks the arrival of a truly unique dining destination on the island. It is a retreat for those seeking the authenticity of Azorean cuisine in a cosmopolitan yet relaxed atmosphere, perfectly harmonized with the natural surroundings of Furnas Lake.
Restored by LADO atelier, the former Casa dos Barcos retains its striking volcanic-stone façade and now features a welcoming wood-accented interior with expansive windows and a pergola-covered terrace overlooking the garden and lake. Beginning August 19, Camélia will welcome both visitors and locals.
