Bensaude Hotels has announced the acquisition of Solar das Bouças, one of the most emblematic estates in Amares, in the heart of the Minho region, thereby reinforcing the group’s presence in Northern Portugal.

This move marks a decisive milestone in the group’s strategy to expand into mainland Portugal, with a particular focus on the North, establishing a strong presence along the strategic corridor between Porto, the Douro Valley, and Braga. Through this acquisition, Bensaude Hotels positions itself in a destination with growing tourism demand, capitalizing on the unique potential of wine tourism and the region’s historical heritage, while reinforcing its commitment to the local community.

Located within a green corridor between the valleys of the Cávado and Homem rivers, Solar das Bouças dates back to the 18th century and extends across more than 30 hectares, including 21 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of Loureiro, Alvarinho, and Arinto grape varieties. The estate reflects a unique symbiosis between wine culture and the arts, encompassing the historic manor house, two country houses, and a fully equipped winery. Wine production is currently undergoing an organic conversion, while the winery includes its own bottling line and several supporting infrastructure elements that reinforce both the estate's agricultural robustness and its tourism potential.

Through this acquisition, Bensaude Hotels aims to position Solar das Bouças as a benchmark destination in Northern Portugal, further strengthening the group’s reputation and introducing a distinctive wine-tourism concept that blends Minho tradition with the service excellence for which the group is know
