Bensaude Hotels Collection renews Travelife GOLD Certification 2021-2023
InstitutionalThe Bensaude Hotels Collection continues to make a commitment to Sustainable Tourism, proven once again through the international Travelife certification.
The Bensaude Hotels Collection got the Travelife GOLD Certification renewed in all its eight Hotels, for the 2021-2023 period, continuing to position itself as a group at the forefront of sustainability in the Azores Islands with this international certification.
Travelife is a pioneering initiative in the certification of companies in the Tourism industry, dedicated to contributing to sustainable development in three areas: Social, Economic and Environmental. Specifically developed for the tourism industry, it is recognized by the GSTC – Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
It has more than 1,500 certified hotels in over 50 countries around the world. In Mainland Portugal, there are 54 hotels with this certification - including Hotel Açores Lisboa - and, in the Azores, only the 7 hotels of the Bensaude Hotels Collection have this insignia. All hotels in the group obtained the coveted maximum rating: 100% Compliance.
In obtaining this certification, the Bensaude Hotels Collection ensure that they minimize the environmental impact, contribute to improving the socio-economic conditions of the communities in which they operate, respect and protect human rights and ensure fair labor practices and, finally, safeguard the well-being of animals and biodiversity.
