Located on the main street of the city of Horta, a mandatory stop for yachtsmen and sailors, the boutique Hotel do Canal is inspired by the history and traditions of the island: Faial is the maritime point of connection between Europe and the American continent.
From very early on, Faial Island became used to welcoming travelers and making the island their home. Like the island, our Horta hotel also becomes a haven for the North Atlantic crossing. Sailboats and cod fishing boats give the theme to the hotel's design, and remind us of the island’s most recent past, seaplanes.

Location was as central as it can get, with beautiful views of the Horta harbor.
We received an exceptionally warm welcome, with helpful staff at the reception and unexpected gift items in the room. Free parking in the basement garage was easy to access, and we were allowed to leave our car for the day after our checkout. Pleasant hotel in an excellent location.
Pleasant hotel in an excellent location for walking to all parts of the city of Horta. The hotel has parking, which is a big advantage. The breakfast is very good and varied. There is a jacuzzi and spa (bring your swimwear). The staff are excellent. I highly recommend it.

A perfect place to stay in Horta.
Right on the waterfront near restaurants and the road out of town, lively but quiet. Underground parking is a wonderful convenience. The staff is very professional, kind, and friendly. The breakfast, included in the price, is superb.

Estadia fenomenal por parte do atendimento do nosso amigo Danilson Golçaves no bar do hotel! Umas batatas bastantes deliciosas e bebidas bastante agradáveis! Certamente voltarei com o meu grupo para mais!
It is a nice hotel, pleasant to stay. The free covered parking is definitely a bonus in the old town area.
The Hotel do Canal is conveniently located at the waterfront, walking to the marina and the old town centre. Even though the old town has very limited street parking, this hotel has its own covered parking (some 20 spaces, apparently for small cars only). The included breakfast is well stocked with very good varieties of hot items, cold cuts, bakery and cereal.

Wow. I recommend this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are super attentive. Location cannot be beat, easy to get everywhere. Wslk the city or drive the island. Big thank you to Marco and the hotel for the anniversary surprise. We will be forever grateful.

A great hotel in a good location.
The location is excellent. We were there for one night and the staff let us store our luggage until our rooms were ready, and they were ready way before check in time, then they allowed us to store them again after we had checked out. The food in the restaurant was excellent!
